Student privacy
CoDrone Academy is built on minimum necessary data, under school-managed access. Teachers create every student account; there is no self sign-up.
- Students
- An alias chosen by the teacher (the DroneWorks alias or a callsign with a number, never a name), class membership, crew and role. A one-time access code, stored only as a salted hash. No email, birthday, address, photo or student ID.
- Learning records
- Simulator runs (the stick inputs needed to verify a score, plus the result), classroom flight evidence recorded by the teacher, XP, achievements, reflections and teacher feedback.
- Teachers
- Name, school email and a salted password hash.
- Live monitor
- While a mission is open, the student's device reports the current challenge, phase and simulated battery every few seconds. It is overwritten, not logged.
- Who can see it
- A student sees their own records and their class's leaderboard (teachers can hide names or turn it off). Teachers see their own classes; school administrators see their school. Schools are isolated from each other.
- Sharing
- None by default. Optional Hamptonian integrations are listed on the Integrations page with exactly what each sends; AI drafting (off by default) sends only the teacher's goal text and the mission catalog.
- Device storage
- Audio, captions, motion and graphics preferences, and whether a tour or briefing was already shown, stay in the browser.
- Audio
- All sound is generated on the device. Nothing is recorded; the app never uses the microphone or camera.
